Saturday` 2014-06-14 174.00 3 26.20 7:40 AM 70 – 75, DP = ??. ½ Sauer ½ Kraut Marathon, Pennypack Park, Philadelphia, PA. Stayed well hydrated the whole time. Carried a water bottle and filled it at several water stops, in addition to drinking water/Gatorade at every stop. Felt good the whole time except for my legs, which tightened-up causing too many walks in the last 5 miles or so. Due to recent heavy rains, paved trail contained many large water puddles, and un-paved section contained several huge mud puddles. Official Chip time was 4:06:56. Finished 2nd in M55-59 age group (behind only Keith Straw!), and 45th out of 146 overall marathon finishers. Official Chip time for the half-way point was 1:53:34. Andres (full) and Tina (half) also ran this race. Accidently spit-out my gum around mile 11 or 12. This was my first marathon since October 2012. 4:06:59
