Saturday 2012-10-13 172.80 3 13.10 9:15 AM. 40 - 45 at start, 45 - 50 at end, DP unknown. Run for the Buds Half Marathon. Race started about 15 minutes late. Average pace (based on Chip time) = 7:49:54 per mile.
Official Gun time was 1:42:41, Official Chip time was 1:42:31. Overall place was 21 of 147 finishers. Placed 2 out of 3 in M 50 – 59 Age Group, and 17 out of 73 Males.
Prior to the race, I told Lee (did not run) that I was not too worried about any hills that might be in the course. I should have been worried. I am now convinced that it is against Delaware state law to run a race on a flat course. And either the last 4 miles were not marked, or I somehow missed all the mile markers. Stopped in mile 9 to water the weeds.
I may have been a bit rusty because I had not run since the Steamtown Marathon 6 days ago. 1:42:31
