Beaver to Walnut Hill - roads and trail

Notes

Decided to run a new course today. I always wondered what happened if you kept going up Beaver Hill. Its pretty steep and keeps going for miles. Road eventually turned to dirt and gets quite rough. Somewhere along the road it changes to the Walnut Hill Rd though it really isn't a road... more of a jeep trail. A couple of big puddles to negotiate and one very steep section around mile 6 that was so rocky and rough that I power walked it. Just about when I thought I better turn around as it really seemed like I was lost in the woods, I reached the top of the hill and in the distance could see power lines. I followed the dirt road a bit further and past a house. Continuing down the road I connected to the Back Rd. Made a left and ran several miles before connecting back to 109. What was going to be 8 miles of easy, turned into 12.4 miles of challenging up and downhills and trails! Fun afternoon and I never got rained on.

Great run - looks like fun. I'm in for this at some point. Vowed to do more hills after Boston... Had a perfect day for it.

I've wondered that same thing. Accidentally went that way once meaning to do Littlefield and not paying attention, but turned around when I figured it out.
