She played hard to get! Here's the story... I ran leisurely from the Y at about 5:15 out the trail to rail trail to Hanson's Ridge. Just as I reached Hanson's a girl with black hair in a pony tail and blue shirt ran by coming down the hill on Hanson's heading toward North.She was about 50 yds ahead. I made right turn onto to Hanson's Ridge and headed up hill. She turned on Deering Neighborhood and looked back at me still about 50 yds away. I picked it up figuring I could try to catch her. Forget it! She picked up speed and the gap grew. I answered with a surge and closed the gap some, running at about 6:40 pace. Still could not close the gap. Who is this girl? We raced down Deering Neighborhood with her glancing back as she turned onto 109. I started to closed the gap to about 30 yds, but stride for stride I could not catch her.My pace was 6:40 to 6:30 all down Main Street toward town. I was sucking wind bad now and she started to pull away... Who is this kid? Anyway I turned in at the high school entrance and back to the Y. Very impressive runner. She kicked my butt! I guess I'll call this a tempo run!
