Done... Note: Garmin doesn't match Cool Running distance... I had 13.27 - Watch showed Avg Pace of 7:44, CR say 7:50. I adjusted time above to match Cool Running, not watch.

After driving the course yesterday I knew this was not the one to use for a PR! A wicked hilly course especially the second half. Laurie - an angel - helped me through this -- encouraging, praising, pushing, advising and yes... yelling. Mile 12 to 13 was rough with one last big mean hill at 12.8... Thought I was going to die! Then down hill into town. Don't remember anything... Laurie says we past bunches of people, I was in a daze. Took about 20 minutes to get my head back. Heat was hard at the end. Did 3 GU's - 5, 9 and 11 as well as water at all stops... Laurie made me drink. Did Gatorade at 2 stops (actually stopped drank and resumed running). I have not mastered the art of drinking from a cup (while running), let alone a plastic cup that won't fold. Johnny ran out and met up with us at mile 9. Johnny and Laurie made a wall to block the wind for me at mile 12... What great folks. I was amazed at my placement as I figured a 7:50 pace was ok, but not great. 2nd in age group of 42. My first placing ever. I won a hat which I gave to Laurie... my coach and hero for the day. Not to forget another amazing lady... rcuch (Robin). Has she ever grown into being a force on the field. Steady and strong... I guess all that streaking has paid off! Runs with RIO. Laurie helped us both up the big hills and made Robin do GU's. It was like it super charged her! Great race Robin.. no fading for that girl. Of course Michelle also did awesome and got a new PR for HM on wicked hard course. And Randall... he's a legend... 73 and going strong! Had a great time at the Stone Church with a bunch of the Winner's Circle runners. Great folks.

This race was a replacement for my planned 20 for the day... 6 weeks to Burlington. Day off tomorrow (school board) and run with group Tuesday. Need to do more running in heat to acclimate myself for VCM. TTFN
