Notes

1st day of PT at Orthopaedic Associates in Saco. Amazing facility. Had me run on treadmill for 10 minutes. Learned that cadence should be about 15 steps for 10 seconds to know if stride length is right. Mine was 14 and ok, but could be a bit shorter. PT told me that shoes needed replacing (400 miles) any time tread is worn! Off the Runner's Alley ths weekend. HAd me try to do leg squat one leg at time. Right leg failed miserably shich PT said indicated it was weak likely due to injury. PT did alot of hip manipulation and felt that IT was aggravated partially due to my right foot turning our slightly when running. They want to fix that with strengthen exercises. HAd me do several flexibility and strengthening exercies for IT and quads. Also felt that I may be arching my back slightly when running causing lower vertebrae to squeeze and aggravate IT. After hour of PT pretty sore, but actually felt alot better. PT said ok to run as long as it doesn't hurt when start out, but strongly suggested that I run on alternate sides of road anytime over 6 miles. (Hear that Lance!) Same with track. His goal is that I should be able to squat steady amd non-shakey. The I should be able to leap from leg to leg and be steady. Will go back 2x times next week and 3 week after. Let the healing begin! Lots of exercises to do everyday.
