COMMENTS: Empire State Games Western Region Trials. Field of 26 men and women both scholastic and open. Ran in the Ventulus'. Quite hot out so they had a hose set up at the 200m mark and a water station at the 300m mark. Saw Dembrow, Ashley and John Walters there but only Adam was competing. The 10k was the only track race this evening, everything else was tomorrow morning. Went out conservative in 5:51.0, 5:55.9, 5:55.2, 5:43.1, 5:43.8, 5:44.8, 83.7. PR of 36:16.8! Finished 5th overall and 3rd in open section. Tried to catch the JFK dude (Janowski) the last mile for the final spot to ESG but he held on and beat me by 8 seconds or so. Lenny DNF'd after about 3.5mi. Pfieffer lapped me at the 5k but stayed with him for the next mile or so and then passed him back for good. Passed Dembrow after Pieffer.
