High Park

Notes

Goal was to get some miles in High Park and to push the run to 20 miles. Wanted to run pretty fast from the start as there wasn't any marathon pace work planned. Conditions weren't oo bad, a little cold and some wind from the east so the last 10K home were into the wind. Felt like the first part of the run to the park I was working but not too hard, then spent 9K in the park starting to work a lot harder to maintain the 4:30's-4:40's pace. There were some parts along the paths that were quite icy slowing me down so I tried to stick to the roads. Took a Muerton gel around 20K and ran back home. Was definitely pushing into the wind but not killing myself. By around 18 miles I really started to feel fatigues and my pace did drop slightly around here. Finished pretty strong, could have done another mile maybe if I really wanted to. Surprised I was able to do the run on just one gel. Left calf a little tight after as it did start to cramp the slightest bit in the park. Otherwise not feeling horrible.
