5K tempo from Cherry Beach to Ashbridge's Bay, wind was mostly from the southwest so I had it behind me most of the way. Wasn't ideal for cooling although there was some crossbreeze that helped. Dew point was around 17 so not ridiculously humid but nevertheless the hottest day so far this year. I tried to start off conservatively with a bit higher turnover and was feeling pretty good at 1K. Slowed a bit in the second km although still going too fast and by the 3rd km I could feel the heat starting to affect me. Remained in control until the 4th K and then had to work a bit. Despite the increased effort I was always in control and in no danger of overheating. Might not have lasted much longer though. Quite pleased with effort, slightly faster than last week despite the heat although I did have the wind giving me a boost.
