Corktown

Notes

Was supposed to be 1 hour at marathon pace running around Corktown but ended up closer to HM pace. The new shoes seem really fast with lots of spring as my cadence wasn't bad for marathon pace but stride length was up quite a bit. Garmin kept measuring the loop long so it looks like I ran about 200m less than what Garmin said. Adjusted for this my pace was around 4:06. A lot of the 3:50 kms were off. Conditions weren't bad although there were some pretty heavy wind gusts in parts.

I started off pretty slow and then only looked at my watch every 3kms or so. Each time I was surprised by the pace although part of this was due to GPS problems. Handled the little hills ok and relaxed a bit when I felt the wind behind me. Really only entered tempo mode by around the half way mark. Was definitely tiring toward the end but pleased with how well I was able to maintain the fast pace. Definitely one of my stronger workouts considering it isn;t the easiest route and the pace wasn't much off of the HM pace I ran solo in the fall.
