Found a flat dirt/gravel road with a 3K stretch to do a tempo, no traffic or people on the road, perfect for tempo. Was hot and humid with sun beating down and no shade on road. Started out conservatively and tried to pick it up on way home. Was really feeling it by 4.5K and then had to run the last 1.5K into the wind but still finished strong. Didn't look at watch during run so very pleased with results as the road surface and heat definitely slowed my pace.
