Really discouraged by this workout, wanted to keep it short and easy but it ended up being really difficult and the overall pace of the reps (1:29.1) was not fast at all. There was some headwind in the even reps but nothing too crazy. I thought I took it out the first 3 reps pretty relaxed, breathing wasn't an issue but I could feel my legs were lacking some power. I've noticed lately my stride length has shortened and I don't know the cause, possibly the lack of posterior work (deadlifts, lunges, etc.) in the last couple of months? I felt like I was picking up the pace from the 4th rep onwards and the last rep I really pushed it with breathing getting out of control pretty early in the rep so was shocked to see the pace so slow. It seems lactic started building a lot sooner than normal, possibly due to lack of tempo work. Now I don't know what to expect in Sunday's race as things have really gone downhill quickly in the last 3 weeks. Calf a little sore on the way home but it is getting better. Left knee is still a bother.
