Don't really know what to say, evening race, thought I was feeling good after taking bus to Hamilton. goal was sub 19 or bust. First 2 kms were somewhat hard but not crazy hard and then it all fell apart in third km. A couple of rollers sapped all my energy and my breathing accelerated. Hit turnaround right around 9:30. Didn't realize at the time but my pace had dropped to mid 3:50's during 3rd km. Was practically at my limit by the beginning of 4th km and already falling off pace. Hit the 4th km marker on path at about 11:26 but was only moving at around 3:57 pace at the time and this continued until I stopped. Garmin was acting up so couldn't tell what my true pace was after the 2nd km but knew I was slowing in 4th km, sub 19 was just about out the window when my right side cramped up severely at around 3.5K mark. Decided to stop and wait for L., total disaster.

Not sure what went wrong, bad eating, drinking yesterday or just evening race? Maybe exhausted myself over last 2 weeks with the tempos, intervals? Just doesn't make sense as I thought I was in sub 19 shape for sure and ended up not even close . . .

It appears my turnover was lacking, first couple of kms similar to MEC but in MEC I increased the cadence to 190's in last 2kms whereas today it actually slowed to mid 180's
