Queen's Quay

Notes

Came down with COVID again last week, not as bad as last time as I've been able to do some runs but still feeling lethargic with some brain fog including today. Nevertheless I wanted to get a sub 20 in for the year while the weather isn't too bad. Did the time trial on Queen's Quay as Cherry Beach has some snow and Bayview has construction. Pretty flat with only the bridge to deal with. Wet in parts and some parts heavily salted. There was wind from the north and west but also gusting in random directions. Nothing too bad but definitely felt. Goal was to go out at 19:30 pace but since the first part was into some wind I had to adjust lower. Was able to maintain tempo breathing until just past 3K and then took advantage of more favorable conditions in the last mile finishing pretty strong.

Turnover was weak (196) and I was just lacking that extra oomph to really push hard. I feel like I should be able to run under 19:30 if not for the sickness although I haven't been having consistent workouts since before Vancouver.

Gamin appeared to measure the course pretty accurately despite bumping around at different points.
