Notes
Houston Half Marathon. Weather was okay, but warmish. The temperatures got warmer as the race wore on. It was probably in the low to mid-70's at the end. I went out fairly relaxed. I hung with a pack that included Jeff Eisle, Stephen Mayor and Autumn Ray. We kept a fairly even pace through the first lap. Near the end of the second lap, I started pulling ahead of Stephen and Autumn, and they would never pass me. I was passed by one 18 year old kid, but that was it. My legs felt dead the last two miles. I did not feel I had anything in the tank, unlike the 10 miler two weeks earlier.
Overall, I was proud of the effort and the even pacing. If the weather cooperated, I probably could have run a minute faster.
