Notes

8 miles slow with the d15k crew...then 3 miles of progression.

Started the d5k slow but saw Pak was ahead of me (as usual) except that this week he was dragging an SUV tire by a rope. It's one thing to finish behind him a day or two after he runs a 2:32 marathon or a 2:39 at Boston but not when he's dragging a tire. I picked it up and moved from ~30th to about 10th at the end of the first mile. At 1.5 I caught Brad who was in ~5th. We ran together until we hit the downhill heading toward Danvers Square. I pulled ahead and moved up into 2nd a little past the 2 mile mark and held it steady for the next half mile until I heard Brad coming up. Then we both hammered until the finish. I took second but it was more important as a tempo workout than a race.

Good times at the d5k!
