Notes

I'm not sure I'm ready to wrap my head around this epic collapse.

My race Plan:

Mile 1: 7:30

Miles 2-13: 7:00

Miles 14-22: 6:50

Miles 23-26.22: Whatever's left in the tank.

What actually happened:

Mile 1: 6:52. "Wow, this feels so easy. Let's just hold this pace for a while.

Hit some hills and my legs ate them up like candy and I moved up in the pack.

Mile 15-16: I kind of need to use a bathroom but I'm running so well I'll skip this porta-potty and see if I can finish this thing up.

Mile 17: 1:55:xx. Still feeling strong but now really need to use a restroom.

Mile 18: 2:06:xx...still technically on pace for a BQ, but this last mile was a bunch of walking and a lot of GI pain.

Miles 19-26.22: Death march. Mix of walking and jogging. Finished at 3:40:31.

Could not have had a worse last 9 miles.

well you went for it and made it to mile 18, i think you know what type of training you have to put in to nail this thing and i think your close, anything else planned for the winter/spring?

I'm heading to Peru for my honeymoon in a couple weeks so for now I'm going to keep it easy and try to keep my base in place. When I get back it's all about Providence RI...going to stay with hill repeats up in the Heights and add long runs and hopefully learn how to take liquids on the course.

I'll run the Stew Chase 15k in February, the New Bedford Half Marathon in March, and then look for a 30k or 20 miler in April as tune ups.

How about you; what do you have planned coming up?
