A race to gauge my level of fitness leading up to two half-marathons in a little over a month. Couldn't hang with the leader for very long, ran solo for a majority of the race. One long but not steep hill in the first part of the race, otherwise flat. Hit the 5K mark near the 16:45 mark (give or take a couple seconds...it's been a few years) and was able to maintain a strong pace the entire way. Very satisfying race..the first indication that the serious training I was doing was paying off, as before I had only done training for 5Ks.
