Notes
It wasn't my day. Let's break this down
The negatives:
- My hamstring was feeling tight throughout, and at one point I legit worried something might happen. My quads didn't feel great either
- I was hoping to run around 17:40 for this. At the very least I wanted to match my 5K PR from November. Instead I finished eight seconds slower than that
- I went out too quickly. If I remember correctly my first mile was around a 5:36
The positives:
- A year ago my PR was 18:57. It says a lot about my progress that I had a bad day yesterday and still ran sub-18
- This was my first indoor 5K
- There are many more track meets to go
- Really appreciated everyone cheering and being supportive
I don't think there's anything I need to do drastically different, other than making sure I sleep better and not dwelling on this result. It's not what I wanted, it stings, but there are still a lot of miles to be run
