Notes

-Did my long run today with Andres.

-We did around 16.2 miles in 110 minutes, and I felt okay.

- Besides nearly getting lost, I think that the run went pretty well, Andres had the pace down the whole time and it was a good challenging run.

-I wasn't sure if I'd be able to do this, but I am glad that I was able to finish it.

-I felt alright during most of the run, I cramped up a little bit towards the back end of the run, but it all sorted itself out.

-Once we finished our long-run, we did our 10 strides and then I did my abs and hips on my own.

-Overall, I think this was a pretty good workout.

-Journal: I read the article that Steen posted on the calendar, and the characters that I connected with were the ones about your commitment and discipline being tested. Now, more than ever, it is important to keep doing the workouts, all of the workouts, not just some of them or just some parts of them, all of it, even the things that seem like they don't matter as much, like abs and hips. It is really hard to come home after a hard run and tell yourself to get up and do your abs and hips or lift, it would be a lot easier just to not do it at all, but you have to do it if you want to see any improvement. We just have to keep on cranking out the miles and pushing ourselves to get better, in hopes that, at some point, we will see some form of improvement, big or small. If you are not seeing any improvement or you aren't performing very well, it is easy to tell yourself that your training isn't working and that you should just give up, but it is in those moments that it is most important to keep on training, because if you just stick with it, you will improve.
