I tried going back to last year to see how my times compared to my first Michigan last year but all I wrote in that log was that it was realllllly bad. This year I was determined to do much better. It's strange, going into the workout I wasn't too overly worried for this Michigan, just kind of felt like another workout. Like I knew it would be tough and all but yeah anyhow group was me Mads Conor Drew and Noah. We worked well, trading leads and whatnot. Last year on almost every rep I would tell myself that if I just take one step onto the railing then I would be done and would not have to do the workout but this year that only happened once and that was because I actually did almost step on the railing (totally unintentionally). Last 2k I felt a choice was going to be made and I thought to myself that there was no way I was going to scrap a good workout literally in the last 1200 meters of it. Got out hot in the 400 and at 200 was like oh my I got another 200 but felt like I was relatively controlled coming through. So Will I (link posted) was stuck in my head the whole time which was great because it really helped me stay calm and collected throughout the workout. Lifted afterwards, tried to go relatively hard (don't understand the. point of lifting if you just "take it easy" tbh, not saying you need to kill it, but definitely should challenge yourself a bit). Pool walked afterward. All in all to God be the glory because in triumph and in failure He is there and deserves the praise. Feel more confident and a better runner after this.
