Notes: Start in the Moss Bank Park car park nearest to Moss Bank Way. Set off in the direction of Chorley Old Road. As on Route 2 the route goes up a gentle gradient to the roundabout at Chorley Old Road but for this route you need to run along the ring road across the top of Doffcocker Lodge to Old Kiln Lane. Turn left onto Old Kiln Lane and start to head down the hill towards Whitecroft Road. Cross Chorley Old Road and keep going down the hill until you reach Captain's Clough Road where you should turn left. Run along Captain's Clough Road back towards Moss Bank Park.
This route is OK in daylight and when dark.
