Notes
A solid race. Went into this with a lot of trepidation due to the lousy feeling sinuses. When the G word came, just figured I would run as hard as I could for as long as I could. First two miles are mainly uphill. Was in either first or second most of the race.
Led most of the first mile. Brian, very close by with another runner drafting off of us.
Head felt terrible, but just stayed on it.
During mile two, the hills were NASTY! I wish that I would have driven the course -- that way I would have known there the worst hill was the one leading up to the two mile split. I thought it was one of the earlier ones. At this point I am second to the other runner with Brian closely behind. Every time we hit an uphill, I close the gap. On downhills and flats he pulls away. During the last uphill, I close to within five feet, but that's as close as I got. He started pulling away and I had nothing. I knew Brian was back there, so I stayed on it. Last two miles basically downhill and I was HAMMERING as hard as I could. With about 1/2 mile to go, I stole a look back and could see that Brian was right there. I had put on a couple of hard surges and he covered them nicely. Kept pushing, but unfortunately he caught me with about 100 yards to go. Still a VERY satisfying race and a new 4 mile PR. :)
MNRed did some SERIOUS damage too!

Lots of PRs too -- a VERY satisfying day. Now to figure out how to get rid of this sinus stuff!!!
