went out nice and fast. got clear of the pack in the first 100 yards was in 3rd place. knew i was going to get passed by a few more people but kept it to a minimum. never really felt like I was slowing significantly. second mile was slower due to uphills then rest of course was primarily downhill or flat. Rained all night the night before so it was very muddy on the trails, would have been a little faster with spikes.
