good run. went around the lake then over the bridge and made the left headed away from the lake, followed that up the hill till it hit 415 then left and back down to the lake then added another 1/3 mile to get the total in. just before the 6 mile mark i decided to take the HR up a bit, most of my running is done in the high 140s to low 150s so i picked it up into the 160+ range then ran the entire 6th mile at 165 HR giv or take a beat or two. then eased back to normal training feel. felt great to put in that extra work. once i got aclimated to the speed the mile was no problem but at first it was tough. need to do this more often so that the body gets more used to running at a higher exertion rate and will be able to push harder for longer in races. If I can put the GPS watch to good use I should be able to make some pretty fair improvements over the next year.
