Notes
This did not go as planned. I would say this was a relearning experience. When I ran in October and May, it was very clear that those were stand alone performances, and I think that I really had my head on straight those races, whereas this race after the mile mark, Doss and I just began to fall apart completely. The race plan was to run 0:40/200m but that fell apart utterly. To make matters worse, we utterly failed to work together. I took the lead early, but I should have rotated to Doss sooner. Its unclear how much difference it would have made, but still. What a disaster. Ray Laws shouted a 0:49 split. I cannot believe it.
Then again, after all the cross training I did this summer, it really hasn't felt like I've been doing much base wise. I've basically just been getting the speed back.
I know I would have done better had I been in peak shape, or if I had not done Kuvia, but I am...
I don't like this. This leaves me with a bad taste. It would be an overstatement to say this was a failure but if the goal is to break 16:00 in the 5k, I need to do a lot of work. I am planning on pushing up the mileage and the cross training soon.
