So.... Being new on the E team, running a 6:09-6:29 5 mile tempo was not going to happen, especially since my 5k PR of PR race that I did last weekend was 6:29 pace. So I decided I would either do 4 miles with first 3 miles around 6:50, or run a 3 mile tempo at 6:40. Either one of those would be challenging, so I decided to go with the latter. I wish I planned for 4 miles at 6:50, because I probably could've done 4 miles at 6:40. By mile 2, I was at 6:45 pace and was feeling much better than I felt I should, so I picked up the last mile. I don't know if it was the shoes, the gu regiment, the stress from work, or the Setcher Shape ups I'm wearing during the day (3rd day) but that was easier than it should've been. I mean, it was "hard" but it wasn't "OMG I'm gonna die" hard. Next time, we'll just step it up 3.5 miles at 6:40, just in case today was fluke. That's still faster than D tempo, and I don't want to get injured or discouraged. Like work, I'm just moving up so fast I'm not getting used to my current position because it keeps going up.
