Notes

Had my choice between an 800m, and a 3200m for my second race. Neither had that many people, but the 800m had a bit more in my range (David Kraiss and Justin Ehring) as compared to the 2mi (Sam Hibbs and Jim Cahill were our only racers). I'm glad I wasn't in the 2mi, I would have gotten 3rd and scored points, but I would have been off in No-Man's-Land (Cahill only ran a 10:36 and said it felt horrible).

Didn't do quite as well as I hoped, but it was a good race. 1st lap was a bit slower. I stuck behind David--I knew he's faster, so I wanted to just sit on him and hang as long as possible. Around 350m in, I stopped waiting and decided that I had to pass him. Ends up it was a decently smart move -- 1st lap time was barely under 70. David picked up the 2nd lap substantially. I couldn't keep up with him, especially without fresh legs. I tried to pick up my second lap as well, but that stopped around 150m left. Had no kick, Justin Ehring flew by me (it was his goal to go sub 2:20, so I'm glad I played a role in getting his time at 2:19.5).
