Surprised. I didn't think I was running that fast, but even according to coach Kenny it's a 10k run.
Started relaxed with Chris and Pat. By the bridge they picked it up and I dropped back (my legs were still a bit sore). After the hill on the backside of the lake I started to get into a rhythm, got used to the fatigue, and just kept working through soreness. Ended up catching Pat by the dam. It definitely helped to keep me motivated that I was thinking about our first meet at Wood. Chances are its me or Pat for who will be varsity (although coach usually doesn't put freshman in first time). I wanted to show coach that I'm strong enough to start in the top 7.
