Notes

Didn't do quite as well as I was hoping. I knew that I wasn't feeling quite as fast (in practice mainly) as last year, so my time wasn't too shocking.

Got to run the varsity race! Ended up as 9th on the team though, so I probably will not be running varsity next week. Cahill's JV time beat me by 2 seconds, which was pretty disappointing! I would have rather been able to run head to head with him, at which point I think I could have beaten him.

Can't use 3/8" spikes on the inner most spot on right foot or outermost on left foot - caused pretty bad blisters.

I had trouble really pushing my hardest for the entire time. I think I'll get better once I get back into the swing of racing 5k's again. Felt like I would have rather ran a 10k though. Felt really good at the very end (Crossfit definitely helped me mentally with my kick - didn't hurt quite so much as the 4x 400m + 50 squat workout). I think I'll end up pretty strong this year.

1st mile - 5:28 - A little slow, but not bad

2nd mile - 11:40 - 10 seconds slower than what I would have really liked
