I am quite pleased with the outcome of this race. I know i am not in any shape of fitness but have plans of getting back to where i was several months ago and even going beyond. Given that i ran my first 10km training run in 2 months just 3 days back, i was hoping to get in under an hour for the race .. actually around 55-57 minutes was a target i was contented with. Gave it a good solid effort and even though i slowed down in the last couple of kms (bad side stitch issues), still managed to get in by 51:35 or so. This is my 2nd fastest 10km race ever, and has come at a time when i am 3-4 kgs over my usual running weight and with practically no training these past couple of months. Hope this is a positive sign of things to come.
