So I am back to running better mileage. Aimee is training for NYC, and I have Frogtown in October. Goal is to beat last year's time, and I'm running better mileage this year than last, so I'm hopeful. Last week I ran a 7 miler with Aimee on Saturday morning and felt I could have gone another mile or two. This week I went those extra miles, but it was hot and humid and in the afternoon, so I didn't do as well. My legs were tired and I tripped twice on the trails. My ankle was bothering me at 10 miles, so I walked the last .6 Aimee did two extra laps while I rested and stretched. It felt good to go ten miles again. I did it once two years ago when we were doing Run/Walks, but never since then have I hit the 10 mile mark. This time it was mostly continuous running with a few water walks thrown in. Took an ice bath when I came home and did not take Advil. Monday's run will definitely be a recovery run. I have a feeling my groin is going to hurt until I stretch and strengthen a bit.
