GG Leg 31 - all out faster til the end!
Definitely my favorite and at the same time, my best performance of all legs. In 2015 when I first joined BURN, this was the first time I ran sub-7:00 pace thanks to the 1000+ ft drop. I then realized I am a much better downhill runner if I cannot be both.
I spent about 15 mins to get a proper warm up, and when leg 30 (Ray) finally approached, I was ready to go! The first mile wasn't amazing, just 5:48, I was a bit disappointed. But with the downhill getting bigger, my legs responded and hit 5:24, 5:21, and 5:25.
Final dash was the best. I ran 5:05 to catch up all the runners in sight. Only thing to complain is this is definitely not the 6.2 miles described in the book. And I could have gone faster if knowing this beforehand.
