6x1 mile at 6:10 with 400m slow jog recovery

My watch measured short for almost all of these-very strange. My last watch measured long. I ran the same as I normally do-on the inside lane. It even measured short on the 400s. I changed all the distances because I didn't like seeing one of my miles marked as .98 and 6:17 pace!! I was working too hard for that..

This was really tough. Tougher than I was expecting. I think I let that get into my head too early. I had the desire to stop a few times but I toughed it out. I ultimately had success staying in each lap. After 3 miles I thought, "I've got 3 more!!" and then I made myself stop thinking ahead and just make it through each lap. That worked well. I also found that when I hit the halfway point of each mile and I was still on pace I got a surge of energy/confidence. I was worried about making it through 6 but then the last one honestly wasn't that bad. The last 100m I started to feel some of that 5k oxygen debt burn but only at the end.

The most frustrating thing about this was that I never felt smooth. It just felt like my left side wasn't moving in sync with my right side. Something is really tight on my left side and I'm not sure if it's just my hip or if there's more at play. I just felt like I couldn't get into a groove and had to think about my stride the whole time. I'm really not sure what to do, I've been strengthening, stretching, and foam rolling religiously.

My knee felt a little weird on the cool down which was frustrating because I haven't really felt it in over a week.
