Notes

1 mile warm up, 10 miles starting at 7:45 and working down to no faster than 7:20 (big whoops), 1/2 mile cool down

I got started and for about 2 minutes my stride felt normal and I got excited. It's however still weird on uphills. My left leg just doesn't want to activate so I have to think a little about a way to move my left leg that feels okay. I am afraid I am putting stress on other parts of my body as my left calf was sore for a lot of this one. Afterwards my right glute felt a little sore too, I think because it's doing so much work. I went to Juliana this morning and she stretched me (that's new!) and afterwards told me my hip and quads are really tight. The hip is no surprise and it would make sense that it's limiting my mobility on the left side. She showed me a stretch to do. So, I'm hoping the massage and the stretching will help loosen things back up.

Otherwise however, this was a great run! It felt so easy. Although I am still tight, I am feeling other benefits of the taper. This just really felt so easy that I had to constantly reel in the pace and clearly I did a crappy job. I ran this on a hilly route but I felt really strong (other than my weird left leg hill running).

While I am still desperately hoping my hip will loosen up by Boston this was a big boost for me confidence wise about my fitness. I plan to take tomorrow and Friday really really easy to make up for overshooting on pace (sorry, Scott!!).
