Notes

I decided to skip the 11.2 today. Like Scott said, I had a hard hilly effort last week and will have one next week, so I gave myself a little break. I parked in East Nashville and did one of my favorite loops there, ran over the bridge and through downtown and up Music Row, did another loop through my neighborhood, before coming back downtown and into East Nashville. So I still got plenty of hills but nothing as brutal.

Really good long run. Initially I felt pretty sluggish and had a hard time warming up. I was just telling Millard yesterday how much better my stride has been feeling and every time I do that, I have a bad day. I felt pretty out of balance initially with the running on a cambered road feeling. If I'm patient, things usually start to settle down and they did.

I let myself warm up a bit more gradually than I have been which was nice. This is one of my slower long runs in awhile looking at average overall pace but I think I eased into it much better. More patient today.

I felt pretty strong. I was getting tired but I never felt totally depleted. Sometimes at the end of long runs I am pretty desperate to be done and having to use a lot of mental tricks to keep going. The run ended uphill so I had to talk myself through that a little but I didn't have to dig very deep and I didn't feel wasted after.

Overall, really happy with this. My left foot was pretty sore again today-considering this coincides with my stride not feeling as good today, I am thinking I must roll more when my stride is off.
