Notes
Bib #277. Time = 1:42:48. Distance was supposed to be 13.2, but me and others measured a little short at 12.95.
Humid day that started about 78F and ended around 83F.
Hot day, but I "warmed up" with a easy 2.5 miles pre-race since this was my long run. Took water and walked through every water station. Had to stop and stretch my right calf at mile 12 (probably 15-20 seconds). Controlled effort throughout the race with splits between 7:54 and 8:04, except for mile 12 at 8:20.
Ran this to PR but not a "went to the well" max effort so as not to require a long recovery. Feel really good post-race, almost like this was a hard tempo. Missing is the typical soreness and destruction that I've experienced after every prior Half. The worst of it was the blisters that I brought to the starting line...those are pretty tender now.
