This was as close to a "race effort" workout as I've ever done. 1 mile warm up, 1 mile @ 5k pace, 1.5 miles @ 10k pace, 0.5 miles @ 5k, 1.5 miles @ 10k, 0.25 HARD, cool down. It was amazing to me how the difference between "5k pace" and "10k pace" wasn't that much on the watch but I could feel the difference big time in my lungs. I never thought I'd say I would be catching my breath at 6:45-6:55 pace, but I was. Wow...
