I was planning on this being as relaxing as a 15-miler could be to cap off this week. But I ended up running the first four miles with Laura Kaulen, who I learned upon my return to the store qualified for D-I cross country nationals at Youngstown State in 1997. She was pushing the pace a little from where I'd intended, and it felt easy. So when she turned back at mile 4, I kept on at pace. I felt great until the Emerald hill at mile 12-ish, and then it was a bit of a struggle to the end. Not long ago, I would never have thought a run like this was possible outside of an organized race. 15 miles at sub-8 pace. Damn...
