Notes

Started fine, feeling good and comfortable through about 13, then started laboring. Around 16 it was getting hard, was able to fight to stay close to pace through about 19. At 20 I was starting to die. 22 hit the wall hard, and couldn't pick it up anymore. Managed to make it to the end, but it wasn't pretty. Very dehydrated after the race - dizzy, nauseated, tingling all over. Took 5 or 6 hours before my stomach would handle enough fluids to rehydrate.

Very disappointing that I still crashed so early, even with the improved training. I took the fuel belt with me, drank Gatorade, a few gels, water, but seems like I just couldn't stomach enough fluids to prevent significant dehydration. Not sure if that was the only cause, or if I was also out of glycogen. Either way, I'm not sure what else I could have done. I think it's time to stick to the shorter races for a while.
