Notes
I'm going to call this a pretty good day. Second race in three days, probably faster than I planned, third in my age group. 40 out of 375 or so (details to come). Nothing special about it except getting up and running it with only 37 hours rest from the last one. Finished third in the Grand Masters Division of the Three for the Road series, and while there weren't a lot of people in that division, I still think I accomplished something given the injury in the 4-miler, etc. No discouragement on this one. Talked to Jeff, the fast guy in my age group (low 19s). No speed work except racing. Just lots of steady miles. I don't know, I like hill workouts and some of the speed ones, but maybe there's something to running more miles and simply throwing a fast mile or two in the middle of longer efforts now and then. To test this, am going to shift into more mileage mode now that my major "season" is over, but still going to race and see where that philosophy leads. But nothing wrong with today, and not a moper.
