Notes

It doesn't get much more consistent than that. Terrific splits and a great run. I kept up a great pace, hit the hills hard, and made up time on the downhills. Breathing felt good, legs felt good. Same annoying stitch in my left rib cage as I was starting that I've had the last 4 runs or so; I must have pulled a muscle in my side sleeping a few nights ago or something. Otherwise it didn't bother me. I did a good job of playing pursuit on the couple people directly in front of me and a great job of pulling away from the 2nd pack behind me.

I overtook a high school girl who kept sprinting a couple hundred meters and then stopping to walk. She would start running when I got close to passing her and run ahead so she could walk. I put up with this annoyance for about 3 times before I finally passed her and left her in my dust. She tried to keep up and pass me, but I wore her down and broke her and left her in my dust. She finished a couple minutes after me and was in tears. I guess I shouldn't be so happy to have crushed a young girl like that, but I really hate when people cycle between sprinting and walking in an attempt to stay ahead of me. Just run at a steady pace that you are able to. It's no good if you have to walk to catch your breath.
