Notes

I was debating about whether to try this course this afternoon at after 2 oclock and would have been better off probably had i not, but i did go for it and did pretty good the first couple of miles except for the freakin dogs chasing me(2 at a time on some occasions) but then at about 4.5 to 5 i started feeling the heat and the humidity got to me, so much so that i went straight when i should have veered to the left, and it took about a quarter to a half a mile to figure it out, and turned to go back. Now i'm back on course and heading back to the car. It was awkward not having my HR monitor to tell how hard i was working but i could feel things going south quickly after the 5th mile, so i started throwing in brief walk breaks every 10 to 15 minutes or so, and was still maintaining a 8:30 avg for a while, then it turned to 8:35 then even slower the closer i got to the 9 mile mark, and i'm still not back to the car yet, so i stop the watch, pull out my iphone to ck weather bug for the current temp and humidity and it showed 79 degrees and the dew point was in the mid 60's, the forecast had called for temps in the low 70's and lower humidity, so i hit the start button to go for about a quarter of a mile at a shuffle then stopped the watch just past the 9 mile mark to call it a day. I was wanting to run the course with the group this morning but Caleb was in a program for his daycare at the church where the daycare is, and i would feel awful if i missed it as much as he wanted mommy and daddy there, so i thought i could go then take it shorter and easy this afternoon for the LR, but i totally misjudged the conditions. Oh well this is'nt the first time it's happened and won't b the last either. I have absolutely been dragging around the rest of this evening. Hopefully a good night of rest will help to reset the body to b back tomorrow.

Thanks Mike. It's impressive that your ready to run this soon after that half marathon. Just b careful with resuming hard runs and let your body recover. I ran that full marathon, and i know the half course. That is a tough race that causes lingering fatigue after running it. By the way congrats on a great race.
