Heat 4 w/ Yangster, Addison, Drew (4:30 seeds)

Well, that was an experience. Wasn't the run I wanted - I'm pissed to be pretty honest - but it's roughly what I deserved. This was my first run on a "real" indoor track and a few things caught me off guard, so it's better to understand them now before the season starts in earnest.

- Indoor tracks have dry air; breathing was rather different

- 200 meter tracks means the number of laps is doubled; for some reason I didn't grasp that until Friday

- Using 400 splits every other lap works in theory, but in practice I need to know them by 200 or get MUCH better at keeping track of laps (or something else...)

- The dry air probably contributed to dehydration; I was seeing a lot of stars a minute after the race's end

- Banked tracks are... weird at first

- Fuck that dry air

In addition to those johns, I'm less than pleased with my lackadaisical training the past few weeks, I left my spikes at RPI, and by seeding a wicked low time, I didn't have anyone to race with, aside from hanging on with Addison for as long as possible. Mike Yang almost lapped me and thank God he didn't because I'd never hear the end of it. So those problems are gettin' FIXED.

Oh, and I felt like a douche for seeding 4:30 because I got lapped by two guys and a big point of seeding is that they shouldn't have to deal with that. It didn't help that I even looked like a hobbyjogger too. Next year, it'll be better all around for me to seed my *actual* time.

It felt good to lose my "indoor track virginity" at such a wonderful venue, and though I burdened some embarrassment, this only made me more excited to get back to RPI.

TL;DR: The parking laws in Boston are bullshit and Cish didn't deserve a ticket.
