I didn't start out intending this to be a tempo run. I was trying to not look at my Garmin except at the mile splits. The first mile felt comfortable. I know i started it slow and sped up as it went on. For the second mile, i just tried t hold a steady pace. The end of my first mile must have been around 11:15 or so, since I didn't feel like I sped up at all. I did deliberately try to feel like I was pushing the pace a bit on the third mile, think ing that if i felt I was going a little faster, i was probably maintaining my pace from mile two (due to a bit of fatigue setting in). My HRM is on the fritz. Probably needs a new battery.
