4th of July freebie with ORRC. WAY too hot for a race. look at me, with my excuses. Plan was to push hard, to 10k PR pace & see how long I could hold on. Turns out the answer was...about 2 miles. SAD. Overall pace was slightly slower than Half Marathon pace. hmmmm. well, a darn good training run anyway.
mile 1: 7:07 (solid effort...too bad I couldn't feel my limbs after the first few minutes...not a good sign.)
2: 7:29 (already letting negative thoughts creep in. this event isn't even timed! who cares if I PR??)
3: 7:53 (22:28 first half; respectable.)
4: 8:25 (yep, it's all over.)
5: 8:45 (beginning my warm-down two miles before the finish)
