Run Like Hell in Portland
Wow. I worked so hard training for this & it paid off. Following Anne through many of her marathon training runs made a big difference...I felt so well prepared for this event (trained up to 15 miles, with lots of shorter pace runs mid-week.) I lacked serious hill training, but seemed to hold my own on the relatively gentle hills. I loved this event; an amazing, crunchy-leaf day in Portland, lots of fun costumes, music along the route. Cross-training this summer helped me to drop some pounds & hit a PR by 12 minutes! okay, this is only my second half marathon...so suspected it would be a PR, but not by such a large margin. I ran like hell.
