My Garmin had 3.17
I had forgotten how hilly this course is. It's constant up and down. The Broadway Bridge is brutal. Felt decent in the first mile, but ran into a 20 mph wind in the second mile going downhill. Then hit the uphill part of the bridge. After that, I was already cashed. Tough day. Chilly and windy. Was in 9th and got passed by that editorial guy from the Star. Didn't place in age group.
I was really hoping to break 20 in this race. I thought I had the fitness and confidence. But I got sick this week and only started doing speedwork two weeks ago. With the tough course, I'm now more confused about where I am at. I'm hoping the Trolley 4-Mile course this coming Sunday will offer more clarity and confidence.
