Notes

Didn't want to go full bore in this race because I've only just started getting in good training weeks and I didn't want to have to recover from a full effort here. My goal was to run the whole thing at marathon pace (about 6:20 miles) for a hard workout. Wind at the start was pretty strong and the first 3.5 miles were a lot harder than I wanted. I was worried that I was going to have a crappy race but after those miles Joe and I settled into something around 6:15 pace. The wind was cooperative until mile 9 or so when we got back along the water and it started gusting again. I felt pretty solid with 2 miles left and made a push up the final hills. I was a bit ambitious and paid for it over the final half mile or so.

Overall a solid workout and I'm happy with how everything went. Racing shoes felt fine - no blisters or other issues.
