Finished 4th overall. This was a good race for me. I started too fast (averaging something a little under 7:00 for the first half) and paid for it later. Culla jumped in to help for the second half of the race. I was slowing down and it started to rain so his help was fantastic.
I learned later that at mile 25 I wasn't on pace to break 3:05:00. I ran a 6:47 last mile and then had a huge kick for the remaining 0.2 miles.
I was really hurting in the second half. With 12 miles to go I was nervous and at 9 miles I was having some serious doubts. I stuck through the next 3 miles and got a huge second wind with 6 miles to go.
I need to trust my plan and not go out fast. I really think those early fast miles hurt me in the end.
